WHMIS Training Courses (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)

WHMIS training is mandated by law for employees who handle many types of chemicals and dangerous goods, and addresses issues of documentation (Material Safety Data Sheet {MSDS}) and the storage of hazardous materials. These courses are designed to give the attendee a comprehensive overview of WHMIS as required by Health Canada and the Worker’s Compensation Board of British Columbia (WorkSafe BC). Training topics include employer/employee obligations, MSDS interpretation, supplier labels, workplace labels, pesticide labels, and consumer labels as applicable.
THYHR: This is a self-teach course utilizing 1 DVD or 3 video cassettes, an exercise book and an exam. The charge for this course is $80.00 plus HST and you have use of materials for one week.
WHM-200: This comprehensive WHMIS course is for employees responsible for training others in the organization, or who wish a more detailed understanding of the WHMIS requirements. The charge for this course is $300 plus HST. Courses are held throughout the year, as numbers permit. Please call for dates that work for you. There is no prerequisite.Â
