Update on HAZMAT Restrictions in China

We are passing along updated information from DOT concerning the situation on hazmat transport and production in China during the Olympic period. PHMSA notes the numerous and conflicting reports they have received to date and the agency is still working to sort out the details. In reviewing the DOT situation report, there does not appear to be any confirmed control requirements that will take effect June 1, as some reports have indicated. PHMSA references the list of 257 restricted chemicals that DGAC provided in an earlier message to members. We will send along DOT updates as we receive them.
